Engine
I have wanted to use Bitsy for a couple of months now. It's an incredibly simple engine, really only focused on narrative and basic visuals. But that's the appeal! I had wanted an excuse to create a screen or two that was a vista.
Planning
I set up a rough dev roadmap and even though I didn't stick to it 100%, it was immensely helpful. I was able to tackle the unknowns early on, build momentum, and get all of my doubts out of the way. By the 3rd day, I was making content and putting it in engine.
Art
I recently picked up Pixquare for iPad and its an incredible piece of software. Incredibly easy to use and fully-featured. Highly recommended if you create art on iPad.
Additionally I had wanted to use Kenney's 8x8 assets for a while and this was the perfect excuse. I primarily used these for tree tiles and the village.
Music
Probably the thing I'm most known for, I only spent an hour on! It would have been easy for me to spend 8-10 hours creating multiple tracks, but I really didn't have the time to get too caught up in music making.
